Looking back at the decade of such dorky but over the top produced movies.......they either look GREAT all these years later, or they look so BAD, you have to ask, WHAT was I thinking back in the 80s!

Some of my faves:

Back To The Future (All of them)
Beverly Hills Cop (How can you NOT like Detective Foley!)
Urban Cowboy (John Travolta had to do SOMETHING after disco!)
Purple Rain
Die Hard

A few that I am still shaking my head over:

Xanadu (Olivia was HOT, ELO rocked, pass the drugs please to like this movie!)
Hard to Hold (Rick Springfield, stick to GH & singing!)
Grease II (Enough said)
Return to OZ (NEVER try to outdo a classic.)

Anyone else want to chime in????
Hi everyone! I just wanted to drop by and say hello.

I registered here and @ your 70s site too. I stumbled across your sites searching for the 70s on Google, and found the 70s, 80s & 90s all in one place!

Like the 70's site, this site looks really neat, fun. Love the Vinyl record "spindle" picture on the forums.

Thanks for the great site and a place to relive the more innocent years, and the awesome decade where leather skirts on women was HOT! ;)

Even though my handle was more common in the 70s.....Breaker Breaker!

Electro 80’s pay tribute to the 80's synthpop era, and have lovingly recreated songs by the afore mentioned pioneers (and many more), to create a live entertainment show that is sure to transport everyone from this generation, back to the days of underground club scenes. Unforgettable classics like “Fade to Grey” and “Just Can’t Get Enough” are performed alongside lesser-known tracks, which will jog your memory in an award winning show that is both visually and acoustically stunning.
This is 29, Acacia Road. And this is Eric, the schoolboy who leads an exciting double life. For when Eric eats a banana, an amazing transformation occurs. Eric is Bananaman. Ever alert for the call to action.

Here we have Eric, your average run of the mill pathetically weak schoolboy. Even though he is a pathetic puny , he has at least got a single brain-cell. But when Eric eats a banana, he trades whatever brains he has for pure muscle and becomes Bananaman.

AIRWOLF

Airwolf was a helicopter, but it’s no ordinary helicopter. As you would expect since this is a television show, it flies very fast and has big guns. The basic story outline is that Stringfellow Hawke got up one morning and was a bit bored, so instead of going out and doing some gardening or something, he decided to go and nick a helicopter. Hey, it’s better than going around nicking cars, at least you don’t have any problem with traffic.
The real reason is that his brother St. John Hawke was missing in action in Vietnam, and he needs some leverage to get him found. He will return Airwolf if they (the government) can find him.

Stringfellow hides airwolf in the desert somewhere in the Western United States. He brings it out to play every now and then when Archangel, deputy director of the agency that mislaid the helicopter, has some sort of mission for him. Then Hawke and his buddy Dominic pack up their lunch and go and upset whoever they are tasked with upsetting.

A big warm heartfelt welcome from Leapin' Leo! Man, the 80's was an awesome time for music and movies! There wasn't internet in everyone's living room, no cell phone ring chimes everywhere, and was a time where one parent stayed home and just one worked. The 80's was a slower time, there wasn't all the rush hustle and bustle that there is today. The 80's was a wonderful time and we are glad you are here to reminisce with us! So, jump right in and start chatting about the great 80's!
Take Care!

On behalf of the whole staff and management of 80s On Demand, we welcome you. We hope this and all upcoming visits are fun and bring back some memories, while sharing some of yours with others!

In the 1980s big screen flicks, which also included Drive-In cinemas, now all but extinct due to land being at a premium, sported the most absurd, action packed, over produced movies.

The 80's decade dominated by "Reganomics", the cold war, fall of the Berlin Wall, Pac Man, Max Headroom and the ozone layer being depleted faster due to the Aqua Net being used by young girls sporting short short leather skirts and tall tall hair.

Pop music, new wave, dance, and cheese hair bands emanated out of "BoomBoxes". The 1980's were the post disco years. As a result 1980 to 1983 were very soft rock and hard rock oriented. 1981 produced the #1 song of the decade, "Physical" by Olivia Newton John, and most of us were still listening to Top40 on AM Radio! By 1984 - 1986, Pop music had returned and was in full swing thanks to Madonna, Huey Lewis and the News, Prince and Michael Jackson. Starting in 1987 and to the end of the decade in 1989, the pop music was splintering to Rock from Def Leppard, Metallica, Poison and Bon Jovi and Dance music by Stevie B, Pebbles, Cover Girls and Sweet Sensation.

My musical memories: I remember being saddened by John Lennon's senseless death at the hands of Mark David Chapman in 1980, but at the same time one of his last hits was charting #1 "Starting Over". I remember dancing to what possibly was the most popular dance hit of the 1980s "Angel Eyes" by Lime in 1984 (Thank you WBMX & WBBM-FM "B96" Chicago, KPWR "Power 106" Los Angeles and WQHT New York "Hot 97" for the dance hits). In 1989 I knew Metallica had "made it" when Top 40 WYTZ "Z95" in Chicago was spinning "One", all 7 minutes and 24 seconds of it!

Enough of me, This place is here for you! We want to hear your favorite memories. Music, movies, clothing, fads, whatever is the 1980s!

80's On Demand, Taking you back ... To the future!
Warm regards,
